Greetings from the new chairman

July 15, 2008

Ken Kaminishi
Dean
Graduate School of Innovation & Technology Management
Yamaguchi University

Since its establishment in September 2005, the MOT Council of Japan has been taking various actions, such as formulating tentative accreditation standards for MOT professional schools, implementing trial accreditations, running the council website, and holding MOT symposia, to enhance the educational quality and social presence of MOT professional graduate schools. For further enhancing the social recognition accorded to MOT education, the council plans to develop the core curriculum of MOT education in collaboration with the industrial world. The core curriculum will clarify the knowledge and skills that graduate students of MOT professional schools have to master and the standards that they have to achieve. The council also plans to design a faculty development system that is integrated with the core curriculum to strengthen the teaching capability of MOT professional graduate schools.

Over the next two years, I will take all the necessary steps needed to ensure cooperation among the council, the 10 member schools of the council and others who are involved in MOT education.

As I commit to doing my best to foster the progress of all the MOT professional graduate schools toward meeting societal expectations of them, I sincerely solicit your warm support.

Ken Kaminishi
President of the MOT Council of Japan
